Commonly known as CAT- Common Admission Test, is the toughest and at the same time the most applied to management entrance test in India because it is accepted by the top MBA colleges in India. Conducted by a member of the elite Indian Institute of Management (IIM) CAT score is used for admission to two-year full time Post Graduate Programs in Management. Apart from the IIM';s there are also accepted for admission to MBA and PGDM programs offered by top B-schools in India.
This computer based online test is of multiple choice (MCQ) type with four to five options for each question.
CAT exam has evolved over the years from a simple speed based efficiency test to one that demands proficiency in concepts and fundamentals of subjects such as Data Interpretation and Analytical Reasoning, English proficiency and General awareness. Speed still remains the key and this speed comes from a wellgrounded knowledge in subjects coupled with hours of practise and hardwork.
This test is said to even unnerve the most prepared student and the key remains in being able to handle pressure and answer correctly. The same skill that is required to pursue an MBA/PGDM course in an IIM environment or for that matter highly competitive environment.

Release of Advertisement - 31st July 2016 (Sunday)

Admit Card Download Window - 24th October 2016, 1:00 PM till Exam Date
CAT 2016 Date:- 04th December 2016 (Sunday)
Release of Results - 2nd week of January 2017 (Tentative)
Eligibility for CAT 2016
The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disability (PWD) / Differently Abled (DA) category) awarded by any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.
CAT 2016 Paper Pattern:-
Duration of the examination has been increased to 180 minutes instead of 170 minutes. There will be three sections ,‘Quantitative Aptitude (QA)’, ‘Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR)’ and Verbal and Reading Comprehens ion (VRC)’. QA and VRC will have 34 questions each, and DILR will have 32 questions. Some questions in each section may not be of multiple choice type. Instead, direct answers are to be typed on the screen.
