Institute of Rural Management (IRMA) was set up in 1979 with a mandate to professionalise management of rural producers’ organisations and create a body of knowledge in the field of rural management. In a short span IRMA has come to be recognised as a premier centre of teaching and research in rural management and has successfully created a new discipline of rural management which is being replicated by many other institutes.

Post-Graduate Programme in Rural Management (PRM)

Course Affiliation: AICTE

Duration :- 2 years

Eligibility:-

A graduate from any discipline, with a minimum of 15 years (10+2+3) of education, having 50 per cent aggregate marks at the graduation level are eligible for admission.

Mode of Study :- Full Time

Fees Structure :- Rs 4,18,000/-

Fellow Programme in Rural Management (FPRM)

This is a doctoral level residential programme for the people who need specialized knowledge, skills and attitudes for positions requiring conceptual and visioning skills in the co-operatives and development organizations.

Course Affiliation: AICTE

Duration :- 3 years

Eligibility:-

To be eligible for admission to the this programme candidates must satisfy one of the following conditions:-
a) PGDRM from IRMA; or
b) OYP from IRMA with one year post-diploma work experience; or
c) Post Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or Institution with 55% marks at PG and 50% marks at graduation (college) level; or
d) Five-year professional degree (medicine, veterinary science, architecture etc.) with 60% marks and at least one year work experience; or
e) Four-year professional degree (engineering, agricultural sciences etc.) with 60% marks and at least three years work experience;
f) Applicants having valid score of UGC JRF (NET)/CSIR in relevant disciplines (management, economics, social work, sociology, psychology, commerce, etc.)

Mode of Study :- Full Time

Fees Structure :- Rs.1,00,000/-

Certificate Programme in Dairy Management

Duration:- 1 year

Eligibility:- Graduate or Post Graduate with more than 60% aggregate marks in Dairy Technology, Veterinary science, Commerce, Engineering in Civil or Elec. or Mech. or IT may apply

Campus

IRMA spreads over 60 acres of land and renders facilities like hostels, cafeteria, lecture halls, seminar rooms, central library, and auditorium and computer lab.

Library

The library is housed in a 3 storey building which holds a huge collection of books, videocassettes, CD-ROMS, microforms, MTS reports, OTS reports and Fieldwork reports.

Canteen

The institute canteen serves tasty foods keeping proper hygiene in mind.

Auditorium

IRMA has an auditorium with a seating capacity of 400 students.

Labs

The institute has a computer lab which is equipped with latest and advanced technology and renders high speed internet connectivity.

Accommodation

The institute offers 216 hostel rooms which occupies two students in a single room. One can even look out for PG in the nearby area like Popti Nagar, Sardar ganj or at Bhavna Colony.

Classrooms

All the classrooms are fully air-conditioned and equipped with modern technologies like overhead projectors, LCD TVs and video conferencing.

How to Apply


1. All the candidates seeking to take admission in IRMA have to pass its entrance exam.
2. Candidate can opt for one of the following options:-
a) Candidates have to apply online for any programme and have to pay application fee of Rs.1000/- through payment gateway.
b) Make payment through SBI’s online “i-collect” facility, SBI would generate reference number after successful payment. Use this reference number and apply online through IRMA website.
c) Take a print out of SBI challan available on IRMA website in the admission link. Make payment at any branch of SBI by using the challan. SBI would then issue a unique ID number. Use this unique ID number and apply online through IRMA website.
d) Printed application material can also be obtained from Admissions Office, IRMA, Anand - 388 001 on payment of full fees. All the payments to IRMA should be made in the form of a demand draft favouring ‘IRMA’ and it should be payable at “Anand”.

IRMA - 90 percentile

Selection Process


Candidates will be selected by the performance in written test of 200 marks which comprises four sections: analytical reasoning (60 marks), quantitative ability (50 marks), english comprehension (50 marks), and issues of social concern (40 marks).

For PRM: Rs.4,18,000/-
For FPRM: Rs.1,00,000/-

Written test - November 11, 2012 (9.15 a.m. – 12.15 p.m.)
Announcement of written test results - December 26, 2012
Group activity and Personal Interview - January 28 to February 09, 2013

Last date to deposit the first term fee - May 06, 2013
Commencement of the programme - June 17, 2013

IRMA helds its placement process during the second week of February every year. There are more than 650 organizations which are been invited for the purpose of placement of its graduates.
